A Butt Ugle, and Two Good Ideas

Just because somebody writes about it on the internet doesn't make it a good idea. This chick likes to add texture to her small environment, and would have us believe that this atrociousness is a great idea. Oh, puh-leeze.

It's a lampshade, for pity's sake. How horrible is this thing? Let me count the ways. Dust collector, big time. And ruffles. OMG. Ruffles? I HATE ruffles. And truly a Big Ug.

Here's the good ideas. Remember when we were talking about ditching the headboard and footboards of beds to make a small bedroom feel and look bigger? Right. Here are two ideas for headboards that don't take up any space:

And this one is cool - just hang some fabric on the wall behind the bed. Now I grant you, that has got to be the world's UGLIEST print fabric that is in the picture, but you can get the idea from it anyway, after you stop barfing.

I am confused. What does the lamp and the headboard have in common? The lamp is impressive. Someone actually took the time to make all those ruffles and attach them to the lamp shade. Why???

Why, indeed. This person feels that adding texture improves the look and feel of a small space. To each one's own.

The bed thing is a better idea, just was too lazy to make a separate post.

If you learn to sleep while standing, you really save space.

Wow, the lampshade is hideous! As a friend of mine once said, "Even people with no taste have money." The second headboard was downright scary. The fabric behind it wasn't bad, if it was by itself, but with the headboard, WOW!
