Indian Restaurant

I went to Erie PA this past weekend and got to go to a restaurant there called Raj Mahal.

I had something called Navrattan Korma
Nine seasonal vegetables cooked with cream, cashew paste, nuts, raisins and spices

Just have to tell you it was so delicious. I want to learn how to make it. Also want to learn how to cook other Indian food.

Anyone else have this wonderful dish?

I LOVE Indian food and have it a lot, especially these products:

I am also lucky enough to have a vegetarian Indian restaurant in my town!

I've saved your link in my favorites Laughingspirit. I'll have to check it out.

My stop and shop store has a nice large Indian foods section. I have to find something other than corn starch though for thickener. Any suggestions?

I discovered Indian food 15-20 years ago and love it, but have never been brave enough to try making it from scratch. Luckily there are many Indian restaurants here, and all are either vegetarian or include many vegetarian offerings. There are also a lot of Indian products in stores here, including korma sauce which suits my style of cooking very well! You don't have those kinds of products in your stores? There is also a booth that sells Indian food at our farmer's market, including wonderful stuffed flatbreads that you tear apart and eat with a sauce or dip. Now I'm getting hungry!

One of my cousins is a vegetarian, thanks to me, and also a sitar player who studies under an Indian master teacher. He used to always bring an Indian dish for us to enjoy at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have one of his receipes here somewhere. I'll post it when I find it.

BTW another cousin is a vegan and when she was pregnant found an OB/Gyn who was also. She has no problems and had a beautiful, healthy full term girl.

I had no idea I had such an impact on them.
