...okay, I am on Facebook..to keep up with my friends kids, my nieces and nephews, and to bug my own kids..and for that purpose it is great...however, it really isn't a place for us old farts to socialize...I know, I know...you are thinking..."Lighto, what's wrong with choo...you r old...you r on FB..how can you be so age-biased...here is why:
My older friends post statuses like this;
Went to drugstore today...oh, no, wait a minute, it was Tuesday...yes, that's right...I remember it was Tuesday because the Soup of the Day at Bentley's is Navy Bean on Tuesdays...it was really good, too...except it had too many onions and I told the waitress that, too...I can't eat onions like I used to..they always talk back..so, it was good, except for the onions..where was i again...
sorry lighto..... my friends and I (the ones on facebook) and that would be 3D friends.... have a riot.... we just went to see "New Moon" on Friday and spent all day Thursday posting flair that read "My boyfriend sparkles" and "Forks High School Alumni"..... guess you have WAY older friends.... LOL
i'm on facebook as well. it's an easy way to keep up with my kidlets cousins etc. and high school friends. BUT i'm very careful what i put out there... its not a way to meet new people, eons is good for that, but it is a nice way to keep in touch and reunite with old buddy beans.
Gee NNick, how did I miss all that happening to you? I know I didn't break any of those rules about you when you were on FB. You're not in jail again are you?...at least not over any FB stuff I hope...
I think it has a place. I've met many wonderful new people on eons. Facebook has brought many friends from my past back into my life. The fact that you use your real name, and women usually post their maiden name, makes it easy to find you.
Of course that can be good or bad. I happen to like being back in touch with many people I had lost contact with. Two of my sisters are on there also. One deliberately did NOT post her maiden name. She does not want to hear from people who've been out of her life for the last 36 years. She figures they're not there for a reason. ;-) Both valid points of view to me.
