Just catching up

I have been having really bad pain in my ankle. Didn't twist it, or bang it, that I could remember. So I had the doctor check it out, and he is leaning to arthritis. Had blood test done, for gouty arthritis and waiting for results. My ankle really was swollen and not red, but warm to the touch. Advil worked better than Tylenol, but then he said no more Advil because of the Plavix, thins the blood to much, boy, our golden years don't look so golden. Just letting off steam, cause this is the first day in a week that I don't hurt. I can actually put my foot down without any pain.

We watched George Clooney movie yesterday,Intolerable Cruelty. If your a Clooney fan, like me, don't waste your time, we gave it 2 thumbs down.

The weather here has been just wonderful. I've been sitting out on the front deck getting my vitamin D. I also wonder in the D deficiency has anything to do with the ankle pain. Oh well, this to shall pass.

Have a great day everyone.

Hello, Brig....I'm technically just entering my "golden years", but you are right about them being a bit tarnished.....once, my plan was to retire at 55 and have a second home in Florida or somewhere near the coast....well, missed that by a few years and doubt the second home will ever happen.....I'll be lucky to get a few weeks every other year at the beach, lol.....

I do hope your pain stays away so you can really enjoy the nice weather....I'm taking a break at the moment but was attempting outside decorations for Christmas before the rains return....guess I'd best get back at it....TC

I have to agree about those "golden years" golden to who? The med manufactures, health care providers??? I have arthritis in my hip and Aleve has me feeling good all day, but then i don't take blood thinners. However i have to take a break from Aleve every few days as it will ruin your stomach.

Gee Brig,I am so sorry you have been in so much pain, and very glad to hear that your feeling some relief from it today.

I sometomes feel like I got an early start to those "glden years". Between the arthritis, the tendonitis, and the herniated discs....I havnt had a pain free day in tears, but some are definetly worse than others! I dont think I would stillbe able to work whatsoever if it were not for taking a Glucosimine/Chondrotin complex.I really didnt believe they did all that much, despite my mothers belief that they were helping her a lot. Then, the arthritis got so bad in my left knee that I could hardly stand at all,and had to use my hands to force it to bend just to get in my car,it got so bad that it woke me ,and kept me up at night. It was really bad for about 4 months, then started taking Natures Made 'Triple Flex',and started seeing a difference in 3 days! After just a wek the pain in my knee was gone altogether! It doesnt take away 100% of my arthritis pain in my hip and back, but certainly helps.

i agree with you on Intolerable Cruelty..I am a George Clooney fan,but I didnt care for it either. I wold like to see the new one.."Men Who Stare At Goats".
