Have you found love? Have you given up on it? Have you settled for something else, second best, comfortable etc. If you can't have love, what can you have? Does love come and go or is it forever? Can love die or be killed?
What sort of love do you have in your life? A child, a lover, a pet, a parent or family member?
Wow....a load of love....lol......I am the ever optimistic person who always hopes for that love.......I have had it,..... and it sits dormantly....waiting to sing it's song.....to be worn on my sleeve.....to make me whole....but sometimes these things are not seen...or heard......or recognized .....
but....I do have plenty of love in my life....parents, kids, grandkids.......many family members....even friends have my affection and love.....sometimes people I know from my everyday life give me the gift of love....I am really very lucky .....I love to give it and receive it....
btw...I'll never give up on it.......I think it's worth all the gold in the world
I have lots of love in my life from God, hubby, kids, pets, mom and grandma and friends, and I give lots of love in return.
I believe for love to be forever, it must be a daily choice and not based on some flighty, fickle emotional response to "chemistry" or "mutual admiration." True love towards anyone takes into account their faults and chooses to love anyway; true love sometimes "takes a licking, but keeps on ticking."
I agree with you KellyALee, true love lasts no matter what. Past the lust and passion, past the fights, the differences and settles down to that comfortable companionship of the heart. I think if we give up on love, we lose our humanity. Our souls. God created us to love him and each other and i dont think we can survive without it. Love comes in so many forms i think too. Imagine what it will be like someday, when we are with God in heaven and there is nothing but love filling our hearts. The sadness and sorrows of life are gone, the hatred and evil wiped out.
Love is patient love is kind, it does not envy it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude nor self-seeking not easily angered and keeps no records of wrongs. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

If I have not love, then what, you say? Well, I do have Love in many ways----in my heart, from friends, from my Lord, from family, from the smiles of strangers and small children, from the blessings received every day to just being alive and lively. Yes, I am loved and I Love tremendously!
Would it dehumanize us to not have love or be loved? Can humans exist without it? Is that what makes a serial killer do what he does? No love in his life...nothing but hatred and abuse? Can the absense of love cause us to become worse than animals? The lack of love, does it cause hopelessness and despair? I think its primal. What keeps a baby alive? Love. If it has not love it will not thrive.
