Loving gentle hugs all around,
Dawn
Hubby and I first are playing for a convalescent home, then we are going over to our good friends' home and spending the rest of the day there. We are playing for them as well, and I am bringing brownies (I have a killer brownie recipe). It is always a good, heart-filled time there, and we are really looking forward to it.
Hugs back at you!
I am thankful I don't have to make the big meal anymore. Our middle daughter has our family and her husband's family over. There will be 15 of us this year. Five are under 9. And four are boys. And then my granddaughter becomes a boy too!!!!! The non-stop barking dog puts the icing on the cake for me. My husband and I were gone for 11 years so we haven't done Thanksgiving for 16 years in our own home.
I will bring a jello salad and we will drive 45 minutes to their house! We usually peel the potatoes. Help set and clear the table and do dishes as we go along.
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving no matter where you are or who you are with.
We will be alone and going out to dinner. We don't mind at all. Last year we had company and we cooked so this will be a breeze!!! After having worked as a Nurse, I missed so many holiday meals being that I had to work. I am fine with a low level celebration.

I celebrate Thanksgiving at home with my son. We cook together and relax. I quit celebrating the other holidays years ago, to much stress!
I agree. Too much stress. Did our parents feel the same way? To me when I was under 12 they sure seemed to be having fun. Now maybe that IS why they were drinking?!!!! And having fun!!!!
My Dad didn't really ever want to go anywhere once he was in his 60's. But once he did get out he was okay. I think?
We will be going to Chicago to our sons house...he works for Whole Foods, so he is very busy on this holiday. We always invite his single friends who cant make it home..we have known ost of these guys since Mike was in c€ollege..it is always an eclectic group... Happy no pain holiday to all.
Even though it's just the two of us, I cook the traditional turkey dinner because I want the leftovers! Our friends just got back from TN so if they don't have plans they are welcome. I tend to find people at loose ends just before Thanksgiving and invite them.
May you all have much to give Thanks for!
I've ordered a dinner from the grocery store next door. It comes in a box, and includes a pre-cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, rolls, and pie, all for less $ than the ingredients would cost separately. I'll pick it up on Weds. along with a couple of other finishing touches like the whipped cream for the pie. On Thursday, put the turkey in the oven for a couple of hours to reheat, heat the other hot food in the microwave or oven, and we're good to go. It's just my son & I, and we've done this before. It's the easiest and cheapest way to still have the traditional holiday dinner for us. We can even stay in our pj's all day if we want.
We've done the dinner from our local store too and it was wonderful!
