Holiday Angels!!

Greetings to all Texas Friends!

I hope this is not against the rules of the group or of eons, but here is my message.

Today I went shopping for new jeans, however, in one store I looked at the Angel Tree and decided I absolutately do not need jeans or anything else! How can I be so selfish as to purchase jeans, earrings, etc., when children on the tree are asking for "warm gloves", "warm hats", and (this is the one that got me) "a warm blanket".
I want so much to fullfill these two boy's Christmas list, however, I have a problem & I know there are people out there who will help.
I can afford to purchase these boys hats, gloves, blankets and tackle boxes, but I can't afford to purchase two rods and reels. Just more than I can afford.
Does ANYONE have two new rods and reels they would mail me (I'll pay the postage) as Christmas presents for two boys who want warm clothing and IF possible, a rod and reel for Christmas.
Too keep anyone from thinking I am trying to obtain these rods and reels for myself, I will give you the name of the store where the Angle Tree is located, scan the boys request angel, or anything you want to prove I'm on the level.

I applaud you for helping these children. I do not have the fishing equipment to donate but I'll pray that someone out there can come to your aid. Also, I hope the equipment leads to catching many fish for their meals and subsequent growth into appreciative men who will remember your kindness and pass it on someday. Bless you.

Letsvisit, I don't have fishing rods either, but here is a suggestion. I have worked with Child Advocates and other needy children's groups every Christmas for the last 25 years and I have found that stores are often willing to donate an item or two for something like this. They usually have a set budget that they are allowed to use for this time of year -- try Walmart, Sams Club, Target, or a sporting goods store, but do it as early as possible before their budget is used up. Sometimes even a smaller retail store will have the heart to sell you something half price or donate it -- ask to speak to the managers.
