Where do I find Archives on My Computer?

Malware was found on my computer, my question is: HOW DO I FIND THE ARCHIVES TO DELETE IT? My security program after I did a scan, read as follows:

"The infected file is inside an archive (such as a zip file), and cannot be processed automatically. To delete the infected file, open the archive and delete the infected file manually. If the contents of the archive are not important delete the whole archive."

I would like to thank you in advance and truly appreciate any help I can get on this. Cheers, JourneysLady

My question is; What security software reported Malware on your PC? Any security software I have ever dealt with will either quarantine the infected file in a 'quarantine" folder or report the path where the infected file can be found. Your user's guide should tell you how their software deals with infected files or at the very least what log file may tell you where the infected file is located. If you can not find an answer, go on line and contact the company who wrote your security software and pose the question.

Hope this was a help.

Have you downloaded a .ZIP file lately? The infected file is located inside a compressed file so you'll probably end up having to delete the entire zip file. Do a search of your computer by clicking on the START button and then from that new window click on the SEARCH icon. That will bring up another little window. Type in the file name that the security program gave as the infected file. Delete it from there if possible.

Run another scan with a different program. For example if you ued malwarebytes try avast or avg. Another program may give you a location. Din't your program give you the name of the infection?
