No it's not going to slim your waistline, or completely shut down your cravings for sweets, but I'd lay odds you will be able to type faster!

So what do you want to chit chat about this morning? Can be anything, like the stress of the holidays, how your going to fit a gazillon people in your home for Thanksgiving, what's on the menu or your backup plan if something goes terribly wrong. Like the turkey gets loose and Aunt Ethels beagle chases it through the neighborhood. Like everyone forgets to bring a side dish. Like, heaven forbid in my case, hubby forgets the chapagne!

Lets chat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning horsefly!! I think our Thanksgiving will be okay. I only have 3 people coming. My son, DIL and GD and I am cooking a very simple meal. The days of large meals are over for our family I think but I believe we'll have a good afternoon. Hubby is going to pickup the squash and broccoli today and I cheat with the stuffing and gravy and use prepared but I figure does the day mean any more or go any better if I spend days cooking? No! In fact I plan to have everything done before they get here and just warm it all up, except the turkey so I can enjoy my time with them. I sure hope your hubby remembers the champagne and are you having a large group? Are you cooking?

Chat? I don't 'chat'. I am much too too serious to 'chat'. I 'discuss' only weighty subjects and topics of world importance. Like my grocery list and will I be able to get it all stowed on my scooter when I go shopping today, since my car won't start.

Important stuff like that.

Oh Marti did we offend your sensibilities with chat? Do you have someone who will check your car out? And how far do you have to travel on that scooter? Here's a serious subject speaking of scooters. I saw a man doing down the side of the street on a scooter and holding on to a shopping cart filled with bags!! Where there's a will there's a way!! :-)

ClaudiaG Sounds to me like you and your family are going to have a wonderful day. Do your guys watch football. I always watch the Macy's Day Parade. Hubby is like a little kid, and so am I, when the parade is on.

I am cooking the whole nine yards for Thanksgiving. That why hubby better remember the champagne! I cook all of the things I remember from my childhood plus some of hubby's favorites. But then again, I don't have to cook anything for a whole week. It's a heat and eat week. After all, it's just the two of us with all this food.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marti, If you go to a non english or non spanish speaking grocery store you won't know whether the people are discussing world affairs or the not so fresh brussel sprouts. And you can join right in the conversation.

I can't see our beloved Marti pulling a shopping cart along side her scooter. However, I can picture her putting a V8 motor on the shopping cart. Fill it with groceries. And she's gone in the blink of an eye!!!

I will be missing the leftovers on Thanksgiving, so no heat and eat week for me. I also won't see the parade, or watch much football, or be with my family. I am working Thanksgiving day, as are my daughter and daughter-in-law. My son is taking his kids to his dad's house for the afternoon. And my other son is in Italy.

I will, however, have a delicious meal with all the trimmings, thanks to a lovely family. The patriarch of the family is one of my patients, and I will be making my weekly visit to him on Thursday, right about meal time.

Purely a coincidence, of course......No really, I'm invited!

My small family of 5 is eating out on Thanksgiving. I assure you it will taste better than anything I cook. After dinner hopefully we will go see New Moon if we can get tickets.

Cali, I'm sorry you will not be eating turkey, watching football (yuk) or watching the parade (yeah), or being with your family. But it seems that your patients are your friends and that a very good thing.
So enjoy yourself where ever you are.

All of your friends here wil be thinking of you and your big heart on Thanksgiving ! :))

One of my daughters is a nurse, and when I lived in NJ, she was often working Thanksgiving. When she was less time with that hospital, she got stuck with all the holidays. Then it was choose between Thanksgiving or Christmas. Now she has been there forever, so usually gets both holidays off.

One year when she was working Thanksgiving, we all tramped over to the hospital and took her the dinner. That was fun.

This is the first year in more than 20 years that I'll spend with extended family. This year, my daughter is in Utah with her extended family, and I'm here and going to cook for Aunts and cousins. It should be a great day!

Marti, I identify with the scooter somewhat....I don't own a car anymore....I do all my errands on my bicycle. It's a challenge at times to fit when I go overboard at the grocer, but I'm sure it's a sight!!
