Today's topic...is about getting ready for the big day next week...Have you already started cooking and getting the silver polished and such? It is such a lot of work to put on a Thanksgiving meal.

I have accepted an invitation - we were at these friends last year and she was very pregnant...now, they have a 10 month old son.

I am making cocktail meatballs and sweet potatoes. My friend from North Carolina had this great recipe and I have to find it today....ugh! I am a fanatic when I need to find something. So what are you doing with your day?

Today we are having Thanksgiving dinner with dad and Sally. Since they are doing the cooking - we'll have them over for Christmas dinner.

Then we will be heading up to our daughter's in SC for Thanksgiving. We'll help out with the cooking there.

We are going to a good friend's home. It is always a wonderful time there. We will be providing their musical entertainment (we will play a few Christmas songs as well--did you know that Jingle Bells was originally written for Thanksgiving?) and I have a killer brownie recipe and they always request brownies. We are so looking forward to it.

Hi PrisHaff, you should post your "killer brownie recipe", everybody loves brownies. I did not know Jingle Bells was originally written for Thanksgiving, good piece of trivia.

I have always worked on Thanksgiving Day so I never cooked a big meal. Have always been invited to a friend's house or mostly my sister's where I birng sides and of course help with the clean up. Her youngest daughter is pregnant and due 2 weeks after turkey day, so if she can't travel down here , then we will all go up to here place about an hour and half away and have dinner up there.
