It was the 3rd coolest Oct on record ...

and it doesn't contradict global warming claims because the 3rd coolest October is for the lower 48 States.

USA

For the entire world, it was the 6th warmest October on record:

World

I'm sure the right side of the media/blogoshere will discuss the former and not the latter. So for you who are adherents of FOX News: you'll only hear it here.

I'm just preping for an exceptionally cold and snowy Winter here in Va...

Put in a new gas log, and picked up a new colman lantern. My gas grill and cloeman stove are fine. Got a honda generator that runs the TV, computer and fridge...

We tend to lose power in my area pretty quick. And for long periods.

I'm ready, are you...

Here in Wisconsin, that kind of prep would get you frostbite. We tend to caulk the windows and doors, check for leaks in the roof and add insulation (if required).

But the forecast is for above average temps this winter. So there isn't a panic going on here, not that there usually is.

My last ditch cold weather survival gear is my pack of 3 dogs. If I don't need them for that, I can always play with them and take them for walks.

Yeah, I saw the forcast for your area. The Mid Atlantic is supose to be far colder and snowy.

I tend to stay South of Fredericksburg till March at the earliest. It may be time to spend the Winter in ST. Barts... LOL.

I'm afraid that many people don't look much further than their own back doors when it comes to global warming issues.

Well here in Iowa (my back & front door) this year, we had the limited summer three (3) whole days of it…That was summer this year and winter so far is unexpected… last year was very mild hardly any snow…

Somebody tell me the climate isn't a changing....

Heat does not just disapear. When it is colder here, it is warmer somewhere else. This is true regardless of global warming.

Sometimes heat sinks. But eventually all heat sails off into the sunset toward the land of entropy.

In the case of solar systems, that could be billions of years. This solar system, as all solar systems, was begotten from a dust cloud. Then accretion in the dist formed the sun and fusion lit its fires. Venus was born and the greenhouse effect has its surface temperature over 850F. After 4.6 billion years, the party is still going strong.

On Earth, life reverses entropy. Seeds grow, collecting sunlight and concentrating that energy in the body of the plant. Animals graze on the plants, concentrating that energy in their tissues. At the top of the food chain, carnivores eat the herbivores and we get us.

The entire world we deal with, our very existence, isn't the result of entropy, but rather order and the accumulation of energy.

Sorry folks. Have you seen the news? seems as if the global warming scientists have been cooking the books so to speak. you know. Hiding the real results. Faking the records. Not being honest. Not telling the whole story. Things that are normal activities for democrats/progressives and the President Obama administration.
