It's a bit early in the season for me to be thinking about holiday music, but I'd have to say my favorite is 'The Christmas Song' (You know, Chestnuts roasting on an open fire etc...) sung by Barbara Striesand.
(yes, I know, I'm most likely the ONLY person who's favorite version of his favorite Christmas carol is sung by a jewish woman... What can I say? The woman can SING! *and she's HOT too!*)
I love the way Dean Martin sings, "Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer."
But for favorite Christmas songs, gosh, it's so hard to give the title to just one, but I'd have to go with, "White Christmas," by Bing Crosby. 2nd runner up: "Hard Candy Christmas," by Dolly Parton 3rd runner up: "Let it Be Christmas," by Alan Jackson
It's The Christmas Song for me too. I like it sung by Nat King Cole. I just heard a new version sung by Andrea Bocelli and Natalie Cole, not bad. I like Bocelli. Did you know Mel Torme wrote it?
So many! Christmas Song to be sure, Walkin in a Winter Wonderland, Silver Bells... Can't remember the name of it, but the one that starts with Ring, Christmas Bells, Merrily Ring! ...
Andrea Bocelli's new Christmas album, My Christmas, features a number of duets that are outstanding. One with Rebba MacIntire (Blue Christmas) that at first thought would be a terrible combination, but they make it work with her southern country sound doing a pop "feel." The Natalie Cole duet is excellent as well. I really think this is one of the best Christmas albums I've heard in a long time.
Another on of my favorites is "Angels we have heard when we're high."
