I agree totally. I thought that when they came out with the bit about mammograms. I just heard on the news about cutting back on how often a woman needs a Pap smear. Next will be regarding prostate exams and bloodwork for men.
You know money is exchanging hands in favor for these votes and feel it is preparing us as to the future of health care reform. Since we aren't
supposed to have these tests done, that means ins. companies won't have to pay out as much....does that mean our premiums will drop...nope.

President Obama’s FY 2010 budget blueprint, “A New Era of Responsibility: Renewing America’s
Promise,” takes important steps toward reducing our dependence on foreign energy, striving for excellence in education, and reforming our health care system. And it cuts the deficit by more than
half by 2012
Mandatory Spending Proposals
Health Reform Reserve Fund. The budget includes a deficit neutral “Health Reform Reserve Fund”
The administration has not outlined a detailed proposal in its budget blueprint for how to spend the reserve fund, but has expressed a commitment to constraining health care costs . . .
REDUCE inefficiencies in the health care system, such as high administrative costs and [unnecessary tests and services]
Only brought the part about "Unnecessary tests and service" because it is related to the topic we are discussing
Go online and put Interpreting the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Breast Cancer and click on the link, scroll down to the Health Reform section.
Yes, there is a section about health reform. Any surprises here?
I couldn't copy it because all rights reserved.
Yes, there is a report on prostate checks too. Amazing
U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommendation statement about screening for prostate cancer.
I guess we are just ignorant constituents that they think we will believe everything that is reported in the main media. I'm totally scratching my head about the part on the latest regarding doctors should not waste time informing women how to do self breast exams. Now why would anyone suggest that women should stop doing something that is so practical concerning her own health and does not cost anyone a nickel?
~~ I just read this message to my husband and he said to let you all know that he helps me with this project. lol
The fact that scares me is the Pap smears to be every 3 yrs. Do they realize how fast cancer can grow in those 4 yrs...by the time would be detected, you may as well leave the Drs. office and go pick out your coffin.
What it will come to is the Drs, will be putting down a possible lump detected which will then be covered. Or a strange discharge needing a pap smear which will then be covered. You would think the Drs. would be screaming at all of this.

Joanie... my pleasure to be of assistance, also!
Katiee... what it will eventually come to is that all the preventative medicine, tests, exams, etc., will become a thing of the past and only when you suspect a problem will they be done!
There will be no such thing as "Annual Physical Exam". We worked very hard to get that paid for by our insurance companies back in the 1960's and you watch and see, they will try to take it away.
