texasredhead46,

"---that it is much older" = yep, by about 20,000 years.

fwiw, "Spirit Lake Man" (which the Smithsonian Institue keeps denying that they HAVE - funny thing: they first bragged about having the oldest human remains in the "new world", but when the tribes asked for him back, they said that they NEVER had him! = passing strange, eh?) may be as much as 40,000 years old.

another fact: EVERY AmerIndian in the western hemisphere is directly related to one or more of SIX WOMEN who lived in BERENGIA about 40,000 years BC. this has been proven by DNA.

One more fact - there are in excess of 2 million feral hogs in Texas. Don't know if we have more than other states - that's not a claim to fame we need.

caradocs;all,

fwiw, young "feral hog" is GREAT-tasting, when properly dressed/cut-up/cooked. - even older sows make GOOD BBQ!!!
(ask your "local county agent" about how to dress/butcher/wrap/freeze/prepare pork.)

"wild hogs" are NOT "game animals" & may be baited/captured/trapped/shot 24/7/365, on your land and/or "upon land owned by another" WITH proper "written permission to hunt and/or trap".

NOTE: i'm planning on "taking" several pigs with my crossbow/M-1 garand this winter, as i know a bunch of folks who love roast pork/sausages/BBQ & who, in "BHO's America", are NOT doing well financially.
