It would depend on why I am without a partner. Experience certainly teaches us what to look for in the future.
I am young at heart, so I would, after much thought, be a Cougar

You go gmom... at 62 now, I would not want a partner younger than 58.
and rich with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. Kind of like Anna Nicole Smith... LOL
I have had the real thing twice in one life time. My first real love passed away. My second and I are together today. Honestly, if she were to pass on because I can't even imagine it happening any other way, I don't think I would try again. I suspect I've already beaten the odds. Instead I'd just surround myself with lots of friends and a pet to go to bed with at night and talk to during my alone hours. I'm quite good these days at being alone without being lonely as long as I have a critter to discuss it with.
that crazy lady who talks with her animals, they answer too.
If I found myself without my wife...I would not have a need or desire to replace her.
I would be fine with relative isolation.
i am without one because after last divorce i knew i had to re-evaluate how i selected partners. Now--i'll probably never get the chance to see if i could do better at choosing.

After a few early mistakes and now with being single for 20 years, I think I may sometimes re-evaluate TOO much.
Y'all think too much! Trust your instincts and have some fun, dammit!
