Be what you want

I was watching a tv program this morning.....it was saying in order to find that person you want in your life.....you need to be that kind of person. What ever it is we think we want.....we have to be that kind of person......I guess I had never really thought of that....but it makes sense to me. If I want a positive....upbeat...honest...fair... loving and loyal person in my life....thats what I need to be.

If I spend all my time thinking about "ME" and what I want in my life...what I'm NOT going to change......then that's the kind of person I will attract.

I do think that you attract what you focus on, so it's better to focus on the positives than the negatives of whomever you seek!

I know you were serious as you wrote this, Annie......but my Inner Smartass was saying, "There's no way in hell I'm going to change gears and want to do to a woman what I want a man to do with me!!!!"

So some of the stuff I want him to be/do......he's got to bring to the partnership himself. I'll just reciprocate nicely!

I don't think you can go wrong with being upbeat, positive, helpful, caring, honest, and all the other qualities that people would be looking for in a mate. We should all strive to be that way anyway. Then if you still can't find someone, blame it on the environment or something else! lol For me, it's not getting out and finding meeting opportunities, and also not taking risks that tends to stunt my social growth.

Usually one fines a person that has the same personality that you have cause the same personality draws each other but not always. When the love bug hits you and even though you know he or she is not right for you there is nothing you can do. "Isn't love hell".................................. lol

So what you are saying is that the saying "opposites attract" is not valid?

I agree that when you meet a possible match you should look for the positives in them and not the negatives. The bad traits will show up even if you are not looking for them.

No I think what they are trying to say fella.......you need to be the kind of person you wish to attract.....of course there will be differences....but just the kind of person you want to spend your life with. We need to BE that kind of person.

I have always tried to treat people the way I would like to be treated....but unfortunately that has not come back to me....in most relationships....it almost seems that some people look for people that try to do the right thing....just to try to bring them down to their level.

I greatly prefer confident, happy, upbeat, optimistic people cause they are so much more fun to be around. Put me with a dour old sourpuss and that's what I become too......No wisecracks, Annie!!!!
