Rescued my sweet girls

First, I would like to share a wonderful pet grief site I found at lightning-strike,com/. It's billed as your cyber shoulder to cry on & it's a nice place to memorialize your pet.

We rescued both our girls & intend to rescue in the future. Our Sadie is a lab/pit mix who was scheduled to die at the pound before being rescued by our local group, United Animal Friends. When we got her, she was 18 months old & had been tied up in a very small area her whole life to be attacked by other dogs. She had muscle wasting & had had puppies with no pre natal care. She had been shot & burned & I just don't understand people who do this to animals. She was very shy & fearful when we got her but today she is a happy, healthy 6 year old who loves to be covered up & pass out kisses. She is much more trusting & after everything she has been thru, I'm amazed. Rescuing her has been such a joy for us. Thanks for your group...it's a worthwhile cause.

Hi lady,

This group hasn't had any activity in ages. Glad you came along to wake me up. I've recently rescued a stray kitten who came to live under my porch last summer as a scraggly, scrawny little kitty who had diarhea all over my porch. It took me months to get her trust. Finally one day I was able to pick her up and take her inside. She sat on me in my recliner for four hours just purring and rolling over and stretching and acting like she'd lived in my house all her life. I took her to the vet for spaying. She had hook worms for which she was treated, which stopped the diarhea. She's getting plump now and has integrated herself into my household with my other cat and my little Toy Fox Terrier. Rescue is the BEST!

Isn't it interesting how animals just somehow seem to find the very people they need? The rescues seem to appreciate everything so much more. Any dogs I have had since puppyhood are so spoiled & just expect things to be just so & I had a very demanding little Doxie. She would actually stomp her foot! Just like a brat would do. I think I will always rescue especially now since there is such a huge need. Go to the Dachshunds in Control group...they have the cutest pictures on there. Do you belong to Dogs, Dogs, Dogs? Another fun place to meet dog lovers. I hope to see you there!
