I've added a few to the November album. Here's one of my late cuddle-buddy, Spunks. Words aren't capable of expressing how much I miss this guy. He had hatched in our kitchen in 1989. He was full of fun and love.

Spunks was such a cutie. I love his name.
He was spunky from the get-go, so that name came naturally. He used to climb inside our shirt front and then ride there with his head sticking out in front of our neck.
I used to pretend I was shooting at him from across the room and each time I made a "POW!" he'd respond with a Gaaaaaah! as tho I'd scored. Then I'd bring my finger up to my mouth as tho to blow the smoke away from the gun barrel and Spunk would make the blowing sound for me - pffff, pffff, pfffff. It was hilarious. I loved that bird.

BTW, I also taught him how to coo-coo like a coo-coo clock. Sometimes you would think it was 17 O'clock or so in our home!

These guys do take a huge chunk of our hearts when they pass. And they will always have that special place in our hearts no matter how many years go by. I still get tears in my eyes when I think of those I've lost over the years. The little ones have much too short a lifespan and sometimes tragedy strikes the ones who are supposed to outlive us. Life is precious.
I can't agree more. With Buster at 25 years (since I found him) and Rosco at 18, we're like - on pins and needles. It was part of the reason we aquired Graysun. Thought real hard about buying a parrotlet as well as Graysun, but then there's the OTHER side of the coin of jealousy towards the new guys, by the veterans! Can't win, I guess.
I can say that our lives would've been drastically different had we never had our feathered friends in our lives. And that's more than just as beloved pets too. There's the considerations when we travel and whatnot. Since we don't want to trust our "kids" to pet-sitters, we don't travel together anymore. We haven't since about Y2K.
