For. I have a dear friend in Colorado who has kept her glaucoma problems down with smoking pot. Whatever works. I also have a friend in Colorado who has had debilitating migraines for years and nothing that modern science has come up with helps. His doc prescribed medical marijuana last summer and finally he has relief when he has a migraine.
I believe it would really help many people
( cancer etc)
as a last result
it is a natural remedy and no recalls

I would have to say I would vote for as long as it was under strict medical supervision

I would definitely vote For the use of medical marijuana. In my over 30 years in the medical field, reading report after report of the pain, nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy in cancer patients and the agony of so many symptoms associated with AIDS and inability to eat because of it, medical marijuana helps survival of these patients easier to cope with. It relieves nausea and gives them an appetite to eat.
Softballgirl, there are definitely other ways, but think about this. If a cancer or AIDS patient stops eating because of nausea and vomiting and severe pain, the next step is hospital/hospice care with an IV or two in your arm to be fed. For your pain, you can get high-dose morphine and other drugs and walk around like a zombie or stay in bed every day.
I don't know why it has taken so long for this issue to get on the ballot.

I have already voted for it twice in 1996 and again in 2001.
Both times it was passed by the people of Arizona.
The problem with the current legislation is that it requires a Doctors Prescription and under his care, and the Feds have said that if a Doctor writes a Prescription, that they would loose their Prescription writing privileges due to Marijuana being on the Feds banned drugs list.
I would hope that if a new bill would come to the people that it would be like California's where the law requires that a Doctor only has to recommend Medical Marijuana in order to get a card from the state to be legal.
I would again vote for it as long as it requires the same requirements and safety measures as they have in California's program along with a good state department that has oversight of where and how many of the dispensaries are located.
