Is there any way to copy an 8x10 photo onto 4x6 photo paper w/ a Canon MP printer? Yeah, I know it's 'Mac Pak', but I'm still there, technically, as my printer came w/....thanx in advance

Mazie.....

I'm guessing you want to resize the photo prior to printing???

Type this into a google search and you'll get a lot of hits: free photo resizing software for mac

Some of them may be trial versions, but hey, that's not bad, either!

Do you have iPhoto? There you can edit the image and when you want to print it you can opt on your printer setting for 4x6 either in portrait or landscape view. Preview the image before printing. Also you should be able to opt for borderless printing.

I put the photos I want prints of in PhotoBucket and order prints any size I want from Kodak. I ordered a bunch of 4x6's and spent a whole .09 on each one. They are perfect!

Since I want to copy an existing photo, NOT in my iPhoto, is there a way to scan photo into iphoto, and THEN choose my printing options, once the pic is on comp?

I'm in the process of scanning old family photos, too. Scan them, save them into a folder on your computer, then in iPhoto -- >Import to Library.

Of course, you need a scanner to scan in the photos.

An alternative is to use a service to scan in the pictures. These services are reliable, high quality, and relatively inexpensive. Try view link f

they will scan pictures up to 8X10 - 39 cents for 2MP images or 49 cents for 8MP images. These images then can be printed at Walgreens, Costco, Kodak or any place that prints digital pictures.

You also can add them to iPhoto simply by dragging the images into iPhoto

Thanx to everyone for responding......I took Techie44's method, and the pic is on my computer in iphoto, but, when I printed it out, the color was wretched - totally washed out......any ideas on this?
However, I should take Frederic's idea and have a professional do it best.....
Another Q - is there a special color ink for photos?

Once you have the photo in iPhoto, Click on it and it will come up in a preview screen where at the bottom you can click on edit (pencil) icon and then click on enhance (wand) and go from there. Also you can further enhance the photo and click on adjust and or effects.
