Breakfast Ride- Bike on a Truck Update

Remember this scene from Thislife's recent tour of the Delta. We passed it on our Thursday breakfast ride today and noted that it had been decorated for the season. By the way the College Cyclery as noted on the truck door is a still a thriving bike shop in south Sacramento.

Oh! LOL!! The delta is so scenic. It was great fun to do a tour of the Delta in the late summer. I remember that this particular stretch of River Road had some beautiful homes and old farm houses. I like the seasonal treatment that the residents added to the truck and bike! Looks like the truck is sinking into the silt though. From now on (as far as I'm concerned), a ride through Sacramento will not be complete without riding past this truck.

BTW, this is a very nice photo, dstorm!

I was glad to see the truck again. Looks like it might become a regular update with our little group, like an old friend!

Did anyone stop to see the make of that truck? I think it's a late 30s Ford. I just can't be positive unless I see the complete front end. I agree, teesiea, it does appear that it's becoming a regular update! Great!

Can't wait until the Christmas update. Santa on the bike maybe? Is this anywhere near the rides that you and I took, Storm?

Yes, Riki. We went right by it on our first ride in the Delta the day you arrived. It's along the east side levee of the river and about 2 miles north of the Freeport bridge that we crossed.
