Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving approaches, what are some of your favorite dishes that you are looking forward to having? And what tidbits will you be giving to your dog?

I look forward to the sweet potatoes. Covered with baked marshmallows and loaded with cinnamon. My mouth waters as I write this.

I won't be having Thanksgiving at home. If I were, I would give Lucky some turkey.

Traditional turkey, dressing made with apples(from our trees)and cornbread, cranberry sauce, roasted sweet potatoes and green beans(ours) with walnuts from the garden!!

That is so wonderful that you will be eating things grown in your garden. Another thing to be thankful for. And I know that home grown foods taste better than store bought.

I am thankful because this is the first year since I started with the school district that we are getting the whole week off! I love that. I am going to get all my cooking done without stressing. One WHOLE week. I think I'm going to make some fruitcake for me also. Yes, I like fruitcake. I have my menu prepared and my shopping list to go get while things are still on sale. So even though I'm cooking less food, it is still going to be quite a bit. I love to cook for the whole weekend. I cook for a day or two then eat for four. Not a bad deal. The family loves it.
