SNOW REMOVAL

What do you do about snow removal? Do you shovel yourself or have a service?
Why? or why not?

If you do have a service, is it worth it? Do you pay per push or season? If you have a service, how long have you had it? What made you turn to a snow removal service?

C'mon...don't make me get out that shovel! Whatcha' thinkin'?

We have a very long, winding drive up a large hill to our house, and then the pole barn sits back aways from the house. We have a snowplow on our truck, and my husband plows it. He sometimes goes a little crazy (you know how it is: boys with their toys!), and plows the drive to the house, back to the barn, then extra parking out by the barn, extra parking by the house, a turnaround at the bottom of the drive, then he moves on to the neighbors..........

That sounds great KO. I wish I had someone to snowplow mine, but the city is suppose to, but they do not come out often, so my neighbors have pitched in to help me shovel. It gets to be alot for me at times.

Hubby has a large 10 horse Roper gas powered snowblower... works really well , but does bog down some when the snow gets to wet & heavy..... WE have a long drive as well and then he clears a path to the horse barn that he coverted to a workshop...also does the kids next door.

Our dogs run around outside and make paths as best they can till it gets too high, then I go our with the shovel and make paths... his blower is too heavy for me to use for them....

Up till now we have always paid someone to plow the driveway but when I spend 20K on a tractor and all I get are excuses for why it can't be used to plow snow I think I am putting my foot down and since I have a ALL WHEEL drive it's not my problem. I shoveled the back deck last year too and I am not doing that either so looks like the dogs are going to have to learn to use another door or someone else is going to get off his dead ass and find the shovel. There I got that off my chest!

Use a Toro snowthrower. We have a driveway that goes back to a two car garage that would take a lot of time to shovel. The neighbor was sent on a job assignment last winter so I did their sidewalk and driveway for the wife. It only takes about 10 extra minutes.
