this is just wrong. in this case i believe that bush was correct to keep them off u.s. soil. however, they should have been shot before it led to torture. I was surprised no one brought this up or I didn't find it.

They, the terrorist, should have been shot on the field or within a month. I am afraid that this will lead to our revolution. We are overdue. We almost had one because of the bank debacle.

Personally, I am glad to see the farce of the 'war' on terror that Cheny-Bush cooked up to circumvent the Constitution-- including those military 'tribunals' -- go away. Both the mayor and chief of police of NYC approve of the plan, as well as several prominent republicans.as do most New Yorkers who voiced an opinion view link In fact, 195 terrorists have been convicted in U.S. federal courts since 2001. The terrorists who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993 were tried and convicted in U.S. courts and are now locked away in a federal supermax prison.

since we humans only have two emotions as all of the others are simply degrees of them...
mine is certainly not love.
so that leaves fear.

not that cheny-bush would be found out but 'stress' on our nation.
you can't manipulate 'harmony' but you can 'chaos'.

it is a strange stand that i have taken. it's even strange for me. I simply think it will create 'stress' and 'disharmony'.

The crime occurred in NYC. The perpetrator(s) should be tried in NYC.

As obamamama said, we've already tried and convicted almost 200 terrorists inside US borders with no "revolution." Even if this guy IS tried in Cuba, he would still be incarcerated in a US prison on US soil. Might as well try him where the crime occurred, especially since that's what the majority of those directly affected want.

New York is a fitting place for the trial. Keeping enemies of the USA in foreign locations forever sounds like things that we used to go to war with other nations about. Every human being is entitled to justice.

But they should not be executed if found guilty of their crimes. Putting them easily to eternal sleep is exactly what these "Martyrs" want. Lock 'em up forever in Federal Supermax. Their Allah can wait...

If we do not give them a fair trial, then we no longer live by what made America great to begin with. It is time we once again live with hope, not fear. As FDR said, the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.

I wouldn't trust the trial if it were anywhere except in the USA. If convicted, I would give them life in solitaire except for every Sunday afternoon where I would parade them down through the streets to where the World Trade Center stood and make them look for an hour before returning them to isolation.

That's what I would do if anyone knew I was doing it. I have better ideas if I had full range of anonymous control, but I won't stir up any further contention within our group with a graphical description since it might be censored.
