What Did You Do Today?

I spent almost an entire day taking pictures. There were SO many interesting things to shoot!

Alas, as so often happens, I got home with my booty, and downloaded them only to discover that I only had 2 that were somewhat to my satisfaction.

I'll probably try again tomorrow.

What do you think?

the honeybee is browner looking than the ones up here
I think they have all gone South for the winter
I did see a wasp the other day but it was slow and sluggish
did not investigate it was outside in 38 temp

my day was spent finishing the painted denium shirts & pants for a bazaar
and framing my photos and tagging them for the bazaar

also hunting easy to make cookie bars & cupcakes for the same bazaar

Gorgeous, Rcajun! I would have loved to been able to spend the day outdoors today. Here in Florida, it was a glorious, sunny, Fall day and I was stuck in the shop dealing with idiot salesmen who must have thought I was the idiot, a disgruntled bill collector looking for the former owner, and the rental company that manages our plaza. They are raising our rent...AGAIN! No amount of reasoning with then convinced them otherwise. Oh, and there was the investor who wanted me to sell the shop to them, who then offered the exact same price we are paying for it. That poor guy must have thought I'd lost it when I started laughing hysterically. The sad thing about that offer, was that aside from being an insult to my intelligence, it was briefly tempting...LOL! Too many long hours for too little pay will do that to you I guess... Oh well, tomorrow's another day... I hope...

Beautiful pictures. I spent the day doing laundry, making a pot of soup and Christmas shopping on line. Oh I worked on trimming the bushes in front of the front porch for a little while.

Love that top one especially, and the bottom one is not bad either. Please share all the time and NEVER EVER STOP !

I had a fun day because The Buck Brothers band contacted me by my Eons PM to say they like the bodysurfing video I made of their Creative Commons song, "Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes."

I won't go into the back story, but was authorized by the band to load the vid to YouTube ... will post it here if / when the processing completes.

The Buck Brothers are a London band which reminds me of The Dave Clark 5, The Kinks, and early Beatles. I love their stuff. My contact tells me they are touring soon to L.A. We shall see.

Oh I really liked them both, the color is so bright and cheery.

I spent the day indoors painting. It's raining and cold here anyway. Looks like you had a nice sunny day.

Yesterday, since I was in town, I dropped in on our local film festival's screening committee and watched 3.75 hours of videos with them. Most of what I saw was what I expected to see. Right at the last, the in-charge guy brought out a 72-minute video that sounded like it was going to be another groaner.

It was not. The group watched about 15 minutes of it, and I brought it home to watch the rest and write up a brief review.

Seeing it unfold on this iMac without distractions has been pure pleasure. What I saw and heard was quietly subtle and absolutely dramatic.

~The voice-over was intoned by a man who spoke in a manner similar to Nick Nolte, when he was doing his bit for the movie Northfork.

~The background music was mostly original, done in a minor key, and way, way better than you might otherwise imagine.

~The motion sequences and stills, with the notable exception of a couple of news file photos, were of mundane scenes and objects. Old maps, porcelain figurines, dilapidated buildings, and so on. But when they were dropped into the video, then the viewer got to see them in a new way.

The experience of watching the video was for me almost mystical, and I had much the same feeling about it as I did the aforementioned film, Northfork. I liked both of 'em a lot.

Courtesy of another man's art, I've had a damn good evening.

Good for you, Wurdguy.
Isn't that the purpose of art... to impart certain feelings to the observer?
Glad you enjoyed it... and your evening.

I went to work - bored out of my mind, pissed at one point as well. (Will probably be my day today too) But at lunch time I went to Starbucks, read my book, sipped my Chai Latte and listened to music.
