You have a wonderful and wise son feywon, no surprize there.
Thanks for the links.
This is a wonderful thing to do for our soldiers, who are fighting for our freedom.
We can also send "goody packages" to a general address...my niece is largely involved with the military...I will find out where to send them and post it for all to see.
What wonderful people we have in the groups here at 'EONS' !!!!
What a great idea!
That should certainly make them feel better about being in a war they know they shouldn't be in in the first place, and when they die, they can go with the knowledge that some stranger cared long enough to have someone else send them a card.
Brings tears to your eyes, don't it??

Baxtor, YOU bring tears to my eyes. Coming from a military family, I find your words very insensitive...

Tess57 says,

Yeah? Well I come from a military family too. Not only do I come from a military family, but I was also in the Military. And I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that you have never been in an active zone, watching the smoke rise over a picture or card from a loved one, and thinking, "Jesus F*@K! I don't think I'll ever see them again!!". And of course, when strangers send these cards to "G.I. Joe" at "Wherever they are, and your CO says you have to send them a heartfelt reply by 0400 Tuesday.
So you don't know how "insensitive" it is to receive a "Don't worry, Be Happy!" card when you're up to your ass in alligators with incoming ordnance to deal with.
Not to mention the insensitivity of the organizers of these "love fests", who probably do it for company publicity, or to soothe their own guilt about not being over there themselves.
It's "insensitive" like sending Christmas Cards to people on death row who's execution date is Dec 23rd.
It may sound insensitive, but only to those who have never been there.
