Tattoos and Piercings

Would you get one at your age? Have you contemplated it? How do you feel about young people with tattoos and piercings?

Tattoos and piercings on other people - young or not - don't bother me. For myself, I let my double ear piercings close up years ago, and have no desire for bodily decorations. The grey in my hair, my age spots and the scars I've accumulated all my life decorate me quite nicely...LOL.

A small tattoo and a pierced ears are ok. I find the incredible amt of both that are on view these days a bit overboard.

If it looks nice then I enjoy it on anyone. I would have maybe years ago had I had the time/money to do so. Now whats the point, its not going to enhance anything now.
A diamond in nose or belly button looks nice on the right people. Tattoos look great if you are Cher or Angelina Joli. On me, not so much. I think its a question of doing it for the right reason not just because its a fad. The eyebrows look aweful so does the tongue and mouth. When they have the lip does it looks like a permanent cold sore. I have 3 holes in my ear and two on other side. I now only really use the one on each side. Now I am not working I find I don't bother with the jewelry anymore. So..............maybe if I had got that tat on my shoulder I would still be decorated. When they have it on an ankle then it looks like a mud splash and is not so pretty.

I have pierced ears but no tattoos. My daughter has a huge one on her back that is beautiful. At first, when she started to get tattoos, I was horrified but I remember my mom was about my ears. She actually got on the cover of tattoo magazine 3 years ago when someone noticed hers at a festival. She is a professional and "hidese" them so patients don't see them. lol . Some people are very verbal about tattoos on others which I don't think is right. Observing and having an opinion is one thing but saying something negative to the person is just wrong. I also am turned off by facial piercings that are visible. If someone wants a tongue piercing, well.... that's their business.

The only thing I don't like about tongue piercings is that sometimes it's hard to understand what these folks are saying!

Lol, Kelly, I have to admit my daughter has one and I never knew it until she told me. I think it depends on what it is pierced with. She seems to have no problem with it but I have heard some have trouble with it.

I have two tatts and two ear piercings. Anything done in moderation and good taste is fine with me.

My ears have two piercings and my son has a music note. one on each back thigh, and they are lovely.
I think they to pierce or to tattoo is an individual choice.

No tats 'cause I don't think they are attractive, at least on women. I reminds me of when a pre teen and bored, writing on one's hands or arms just 'for the heck of it.' As to ear piercing, I have enough holes in my head without adding a couple of more. It is difficult to find attractive earrings, though, most look like buttons, in one form or another, but I've promised myself I won't get my ears pierced until the day comes I can put a 1 carat VS-1 on each year. THEN I'll get my ears pierced so I don't lose them.

It mystifies me why kids pierce so many body parts, put studs in their tongues, nose. When one of my sons said he was going to have his nose pierced I said, "Good. Then I'll put a ring in it and a rope so I can keep you from straying too far." He didn't get his nose pierced. Oh being a parent is soooo challenging.

I have the Eye of Horus on my left forearm, which I can look at every day, anytime I wish. I've received several compliments on it from men and women. It's a significant symbol, otherwise I would have never gone through the process. Since I am a lover of the big cats which to me represent power and strength, I'd eventually like to get either a tiger or panther on my shoulder.

I've always liked tattoos, but would never go as far as getting a sleeve or covering my entire body with them. But, in all fairness, it is a form of creative expression, and whatever works for you is fine with me!
