I think lots of people here have read these and loved them, too. I tried the first book and it wasn't speaking to me, maybe a little further down the road I'll try it again.

I just finished the second book and am waiting for the third and last book in this series - really enjoy them.
This brilliant Millenium Trilogy - - page-turning thrillers - - must definitely be read in order. Just finished the second, "Girl Who Played With Fire" and it references characters and events from the initial volume, "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", but only briefly. The context from the first book provides valuable insight. By the way, the third and last volume, "Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest", will be released on June 8, 2010. Can't wait. Even considering going to the UK to get it now, well, maybe not. Also, if you haven't read the second book, suggest not reading the previews for the third book until you have. These previews are a bit of a spoiler for the second book, but certainly alerts readers what's in store for the third book.
Love those grim Norse authors. There's another - I think it's Henning Markell . . . Help me someone?
I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I enjoy reading books from other countries, so I enjoyed that about this book a lot. I agree with those who said it was pretty gruesome, and I was less crazy about that, but I will probably read the other books in this series too.
