What an excellent article. Laura summed it up with this: "I felt as if I was in someone's home, and I was tempted to flop down in a chair and put my feet up on the coffee table as if I was at my parent's house. I've never felt that way in a dementia care facility before."
Wouldn't it be great if we had Lakeview ranches all over the USA.

What an uplifting story! Helping those who can no longer help themselves is what true Americans do. It is what true Samaritans all over the globe do. With the explosion of Alzheimer's and other types of dementia throughout the countries on this planet, the need for more good nursing homes such as this one, and for loving, caring people to manage and work in them is imperative.

Thanks, Rose, for spreading this promising story to others.

Oh, that would be wonderful. Ma Katie has been in three different facilities and I have to say there are some who are wonderful and go out of their way to make sure the resident is cared for and there are some who just turn their head when the residents need help.

It is sad that there are so many throw away people with no one to make sure they are being cared for. They are at the mercy of their caretakers. Some are blessed, some not so much.
