Hello MellowBlue, Comedies are good for me; I do like adventure movies which have light comedy, romance movies really touch my heart and help me to relax and feel peaceful. The action movies tend to have too much violence-- shooting and deaths- for my spirit. This weekend, I watched Soul Food, Waiting to Exhale, ---I watched the movies over and over--simply becasue I stayed in all weekend--since I dont have cable--I have very little to watch on network tv on the weekends.
I love comedies. One of my favorites if Overboard. Just give me a comedy or a romantic comedy. On rare occasions I will watch an action movie but I really don't even care for them. Of course I love Star Wars but that is another time and another generation now. Today's movies for the most part don't hold a lot of appeal to me.
I like romantic movies, sci fi, adventure, and musicals. I don't like horror movies. They are just too graphic.
I don't like horror movies, or any movie with violence in it. I see enough tragedy in my job, I don't want to watch it for entertainment. I like comedies, chick flicks, some sci-fi, and anything with a positive message.
Okay, I'm warped; I like well-made horror movies but especially--and I guess actually I like more the psychological horror or whatever movies like what Alfred Hitchcock used to make, like ones that Joan Crawford and Bette Davis starred in. There are very few genres of movies I don't like. They just have to be well-made and not stupid like a lot are nowadays. I love anything from "Gone With the Wind" to "The Ten Commandments" to "Forrest Gump" to "Love Story" and on and on. I really, really want to see that new movie that is coming out, "Precious", I think it is.
