On this day in 1603 Sir Walter Releigh went to trail for treason. He was tried due to his supposed involvement in the Main plot against King James. He was imprisioned in the Tower of London till 1616. He was let out for an military expedition against Spain but was beheaded on 29 Oct 1618 at Whitehall. In those days you could lose your head for backing/supporting the wrong person!!!!
