"Precipice" is an understatement! Nicely composed shot; I like the detail of the lighthouse architecture (they sure don't build 'em like they used to).

I see from Flickr that you called this an illustration -- was it post-processing that caused the white areas?

That term was adopted by some to mean any photo that has been altered or manipulated. This one had several Photoshop filters applied in no particular order. The wite areas were originally reflections on the water of Lake Superior.

Thanks, jimmy. When we left Minnesota to come to Arizona, we were lucky to find a place in the high county that very much resembles Northern Minnesota. Here in North Eastern AZ we live in the midst of the largest stand of native Ponderosa Pine in the world, and with a few lakes scattered throughout, some of it really looks like the North Woods area.

No Lake Superior here, though...
