She Just Doesn't Go Away!

The publicity process promoting Sarah Palin's ghosted book, Going Rogue, is reaching its apex as her book tour is launched with a visit to America's media queen Oprah Winfrey. NPR aired a clip from the show. The familiar, broadcast-trained and elegant alto of Winfrey was in sharp contrast to the Fran Drescher-like giggles of Palin. Let's hope that Palin's encounter with Winfrey serves us as well as Palin's encounter with Katie Couric. Apologies to Ms. Drescher.

Nicely written.

Thank you, rsb. You should hear the two of them, which you probably can by logging on the npr.org. Oprah sounds so cultivated and adult and palin sounds like a goofy teenager.

I see it now, Palin's next rant about being treated unfairly! "Oprah, talked down to me!"

..if I hear one more reference as to whether Levi is being invited for Thanksgivng Day dinner I will hurl.

Maybe Ms Palin won't have a turkey, more appropriate would be a cooked goose.

Well, her story about the Couric interview is that she was doing an act of Christian kindness. Can't wait till she says something about Oprah.

From the link:

Next up: “She writes that she sat down with Katie Couric in part because she felt sorry for her, after Nicolle Wallace, a McCain aide, said Ms. Couric suffered from low self-esteem.” A McCain advisor calls this “ridiculous!”

A McCain adviser I just spoke to adamantly denied the claim, and provided a counter story: Palin was repeatedly urged by McCain aides to prepare for the interview, but refused.

Palin claims in her new book that she agreed to sit down with Couric partly because she felt sorry for her, after senior McCain adviser Nicolle Wallace told her that Couric suffered from self-esteem problems. It’s understandable that Palin would try to deflect blame for the interview: It was a disaster that hastened her unmasking as unqualified for the presidency.

“It’s not true,” the McCain adviser I just reached said, laughing heartily at the claim. “It’s ridiculous.”

Salon ran a piece on how palin simply continued the same lies she told during the campaign.

Roslyn -- Thanks for the piece from the Wonkette . . . it and the comments that followed were hilarious. palin did make many people feel sorry for Couric who had to sit and listen to that blather.

Torry -- The problem is that people have probably talked down to palin all her life and if Oprah does talk down to her, palin wouldn't know the difference.

My favorite blogger, Andrew Sullivan, at The Atlantic writes about the Odd Lies of Sarah Palin. These are pre-book and are surely to be included.

Well there's 23 minutes of my life I won't get back. I finished with cleaning out my belly button lint...so I tuned in Oprah's interview.

I'm disappointed that Oprah is softballing her rather than confronting her with the obvious lies.
