Thanksgiving

The yankee Jew in the crowd wishes to remind you the original Thankgsgiving was to be a Seder, The Seder of Sukkot ....

bet you didn't know that, lol

I don't know if that is historically accurate, Rick, but I do know that "Thanksgiving" has become a Jewish holiday! We have made it a "Jewish holiday." view link

The Pilgrims did name some of their children "Increase" for "Yosef" instead of "Joseph." So it is quite possible that they translated "seder" for "Thanksgiving." Do you have any links Rick to indicate that the Pilgrims wanted a "seder for Sukkoth?"

Regarding accuracy to the claim, I will have to back track the commentary since it has been studied academically for a long time.
The Pilgrims used the Sukkot process of celebration. Whether or not they realized it was a seder is obscure but I will find a suitable reference.

In regard to a Jewish Holiday, that may be true in America since only Americans celebrate Thanksgiving in November (the Canadians have a day of Thanksgiving but not in this month).
