Merlin joins me...
This morning was so mild I sat outside in my fleece robe and had a cup of coffee. There was this skirmish in the firebush where all the little brown birds flew off in a frenzy. Then a merlin flew in for a swift landing on my deck railing. I froze and watched it... so very close I was to it. We almost looked each other in the eye, but then it zoomed off to the back apple tree.
