About my writings.

Some of you have shown some concern about my mental heath due to the topics of my writings. Well, not to worry. I am fine. I am the poet, not, the poem. Years ago, I went to a Writers Conference at Cape Cod. It was the only conference that I ever went to. I came away with these ideas. First and foremost is that I must write til I bleed. That only means that I must put my heart and soul into my writings. That is something that some of you think that I may have carried to an extreme.
This I have proven to be very effective due to some of the responses that I have been given.
Another lesson learned is that I must write to please myself. About 95% of my writing is off-the-cuff, meaning that I just write what I feel like at the moment. Once that moment is gone it is gone forever. I don't edit what I write. I just write. If, my works finally find a way to a publisher, I will work with the publisher to fix my writing problems. I am sure that I have many.
Until then, I will write til I bleed and to please myself.

Thank You!

I haven't been too active on Writers Write lately, but I decided to pop in this morning and read your latest post. That made me go and seek out your most recent poems. I found them well written, thoughtful and honest. I am not "alarmed" by what you've written. I have felt similarly many times in my life, and will no doubt feel that way again. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and fine writing.

The best writing is what reflects what is going on in your life. Write to please yourself. You're the one that matters.

I stand by what I replied in a previous post. You've been "bleedng", "moaning" and wallowing as long as I have been on eons.

Any talk of ending one's life should be taken seriously. It takes one thinking it to write it.

I agree ...Generally speaking I greatly prefer comments about the poem and not the poet. Of course if you (the speaker ..the poet....etc..)is 'hurting' and creative expression and creative process doesn't fill all the healing needs then of course seek what works and heal in the best ways you can using all resources. Of course that can be said of all of us. As for 'writing on the edge'....I'm reminded of Allen Ginsberg's writing advice which (I liked) and went something like..." Dance with your inner moonlight.....Don't hide the madness.."
