Wow, I can't believe how bad the dunes are.
I have seen waves come way up and over the boardwalk in Atlantic City, so wondered how things were across the water in your town. It was supposed to be my timeshare week in AC--but I changed, really happy I did, I stay on AC's north end.
Thanks for sharing Brig.

Charmedlady, are you at the Flagship? It's bad but Atlantic City and Ventnor really lost more. We where lucky. AC people wanted the dunes flatten so you could see the ocean from the boardwalk, well, Mother Nature took care of some of that for them. We're going over tomorrow, as my doctor is there and will take a walk on the boards to see for ourselves
Yes, alot more damaged than people expected. We had minor erosion in Margate, some street still blocked off because the sand has not been pushed back onto the beach. but further south, worse than that.
Hi Brig, yes I am at the Flagship. I remember when the dunes were built up, at first I did not like them, but learned to live with them (smile)
You know, I think I would I left early had I been in AC during the storm. I am facing the ocean side and it can be pretty scary being so high up when the waves are big and angry. Did you get over to AC to look at the damage? Wondering if the big mansion-type houses on north end stood the test.

not much was posted in the news or paper, guessing just sand relocation being the main issue. Water usually goes down after the higher tides. My sil works at the pier and she had not problems going into town other than the one day with high tide....
I guess it is a good sign if there was nothing much in the paper and the only issue for your sil was high tide. Thanks orchid.
We got to AC on Friday, charmed. It was in pretty good shape, although some of the new dunes where flatten. The northend took most of the beating, and I understand the ocean did damage to the inlet side of the boardwalk.
