New England Potato Soup

With the colder weather coming on it's always nice to have a variety of soups to help warm you up .
Ingredients
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1/2 celery rib, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth
1-1/2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
3/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1-1/4 cups milk, divided
3/4 cup cubed fully cooked ham
1/2 cup frozen peas
Directions
In a saucepan, saute onion and celery in butter until tender. Add broth, potatoes, sugar, salt, rosemary, thyme and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Combine flour and 1/2 cup milk until smooth; gradually stir into soup. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in ham, peas and remaining milk; heat through.
