Hi Jon,
It's the same with any forum type website, only a few will post messages and the many will sit by quietly enjoying what is written. I know it can be frustrating but that's life. I'm sure those that just read enjoy the group just as much as those that get a little more involved
I don't mind either way. If people join and come in and read but not say anything then thats fine. I try to find out what interests them. Of course I absolutely love it when we have people who participate and really make it interesting for everyone. Not everyone has the time and yet they enjoy the connection and pipe up every now and then. This group is for everyone, we have no rules and thats the way I like it. I expect people to act as adults and maybe with two exceptions I have not had problems here, we have a good bunch of folks who enjoy themselves. When I started the group it was for me, I wanted to find ex pats to talk to. Then I found there were people who just had an interest in England and it started to grow, in time we extended it to all areas of the country as interests expanded. We changed our name from "Everything English" when Scotbrit first came to the group because by then we were talking about Scotland and Wales etc.......so we became "All things British" (and I still forget sometimes what the name of the group is) so..............no it does not bother me if people join and are inactive. At some point I may go through the members and take out the ones who have joined and never visited or are inactive on EONS but I would rather spend my time doing research or something productive. I have spoken to both moderators about future chores but as long as we are busy with posts that is my priority. I am not into the numbers, I would run it the same with two or two hundred members, its all about you guys and what you enjoy and what you want to see and talk about. As we are on the subject I would like to cover every county and island over time so we have a base of posts that we can refer back to and bring back and talk about as we get new people. I have gone through and deleted all the old posts with missing pictures and over time will redo some of the more popular subjects. If anyone sees any maintenance that needs doing let one of us know.
Anyone is welcome to post and we love pictures as you know. Have fun.
You all are realy appreciated by me I add a commet once in awhile. Would love to do more but know so little of the Uk and the rest that I devoure what I read and would just absorb all I read. I realy apprecate the picters that you post Trevor and Scotbrit. They brighten a non travelor and makes me apreciate the world so much more. Thank you again We quite ones do love you all
I'm with Ladydazy! I don't comment very often, but I do appreciate all that is posted on here. I don't know a lot about Britain, but have learned so much from this group. I've never been there, so I enjoy all the pictures and all the written information as well. Thank you to all who do post and share with all of us!
its not so much the quiet ones if you look at many members they joined say 10 months ago and last visit was 8 months ago.

I think that is just the nature of EONS, people join the website and for whatever reason leave. This then leaves their account as inactive.
I am a member of groups that I don't visit each time I log on but try to look in about once a week, this one I check and read at least once a day, often a whole lot more
Well it had to happen!! sooner or later some one will come along and want to change the world! I love this site and have been a member for quite a few years but life is busy and I do not have the time to post all the time! but I do look in EVERY day........BUT if you feel that I should leave then so be it!
Fond Regards to my friends
David
i am not ousting out members to leave just stating a point of view why join a site if your not going to come back to it. I do not wish to offend or upset any one

I have to disagree with jon n. I am a member of several social networking sites and observe the remarks made but do not comment unless it is necessary.
I created a thread a couple of days ago about the weather in the UK and, to my surprise, many people living in the UK, previously unknown to me, made contributions.
This tells me that many members of EONS are content to read and listen without making comments. Let me give you an analogy. It's like buying a newspaper, reading and absorbing it, but not sending "letters to the editor". I also know from private messages that many read the comments who are not members of the group (which you have to join to make a reply).
So David (aka rusty the thespian), hang in here, we value your occasional input.
Thank you LadyDazy for your kind comments.
I am not talking about people not making comments , if you look at most members who join any group it tells you when a member last visited a group that what my point was about , nothing to do with if you comment or not..Some people are just taking it the wrong way.
