Careerism is a fact of life in the Army, and you have to be politically correct to survive. The days of Patton are sadly long gone.

Obama Urges Congress To Put Off Fort Hood Probe, Warns Against Turning Tragedy Into "Political Theater" (VIDEO above)
AP) WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Saturday urged Congress to hold off on any investigation of the Fort Hood rampage until federal law enforcement and military authorities have completed their probes into the shootings at the Texas Army post, which left 13 people dead.
On an eight-day Asia trip, Obama turned his attention home and pleaded for lawmakers to "resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater." He said those who died on the nation's largest Army post deserve justice, not political stagecraft.

Barack Hussein Obama, if not before, you are so GONE in 2013. I'm sure your puppet masters are most pleased with you, though.
I lost all respect for the officers of the military during the Clinton years. It seems all they care about is thier career and not what is good for the country.
More worried about diversity instead of troop safety? Yes, PC has overcome out nation.
As a veteran I remember the goal of our training was to have a unit act more as a cohesive unit than a diverse unit. Since that time the concept of the "Army of one" and all the PC has sunk deep into the psyche of the military.
I still think this is the finest generation of soldiers since WWII, (my son being one of them),but the diversity and PC stuff is going to far when it hinders the ability of fellow soldiers speaking out about a nutcase in thier midst.

The Generals have to obey the CINC. If not, they all have to say no at once. Going out one at a time is dumb. As long as your hand is still in the bucket, you are still on the team. I asked the question because we all know the answer.
.
If Obama is truthful in wanting to guarantee that troops be protected here at home, he needs to lift the gun ban on military bases that Bill Clinton established. We train these soldiers to fight and to use firearms with proficiency and yet don't trust them to carry a handgun on a military base. The idea is absurd.
Anyone seeking to cause havoc on a military base should know that they will be going against a great number of armed men and women who will not think twice about taking them out when threatened by people like Hasan. It only makes sense. It is a military base for God;s sake. The idea of an unarmed military base is ludicrous.
The second thing that needs to be done to guarantee this tragedy never happens again is to investigate any Muslim carefully. We are at war with the radical cult of Islam and we have every right to protect ourselves against those who subscribe to the beliefs of that "religion of peace" which proves daily that it is anything but a religion of peace.
The security of our nation is at stake and a few hurt feelings are a small price to pay to secure our nation. Individuals with questionable allegiances have no business in our military, the very force which is beset with the duty to protect this nation.
Political correctness allows for spies, subversives and for those who would do us harm to have free reign in our military ranks and that is inexcusable.
Going out one at a time is dumb. As long as your hand is still in the bucket, you are still on the team.
I would think that a military officer with any honor would not want to be on his team. I know that I could not serve such a nitwit.
