Gained 4 Lbs Then Lost 2-1/2 In A Week

I was disturbed when I gained the 4 pounds over about a 4 to 6 week period but I knew the reasons:
~I'd become too comfortable with what I "could eat" to fill those 35 weekly points.
~I didn't have my computer for a week, then the week following went on vacation, so no tracking for two weeks. Easier to cheat.
~I had been feeling unwell (heart condition) for a couple of weeks so that exercise was not possible.
I truly believe that 2 points of vegetables or fruit will be vastly different from 2 points of starch or snack foods.
So I decided that I had to change my eating patterns to include more vegetables. One was celery which I found out quickly is a dieuretic! I know most of those 2-1/2 lbs was water weight. But I also discovered I love celery with spicy hummus which fulfills one of my several daily snacks with no points.
I also realized I'm going to have to prepare more meals from scratch and here's the key: Have them ready. Blessedly I'm feeling better now, have gone back to the gym and am going to try to walk at least 4 times a week plus do other exercising whenever I can. As long as I've been on WW, I should have been at or near goal now!

yes, me too Div, Halloween did me in. Candy all over the place and now Thanksgiving coming and Christmas goodies everywhere we go, my, my, what is a weight watcher to do?

I always make sure I really want was is about to go into my mouth. If it is not wonderful, I do not eat the rest of it.

I do splurge during the Holidays but always make up for it in January and loose all that I gained.

I refuse to be overweight again, being normal weight just feels way to good!!

My biggest temptation is McDonald's fries with chocolate shake, I dip the fries in the ice-cream. Been doing this since I was a child and now all my friends do it too, it's so yummy but addicting.

My other one is orange, general tso's chicken, so hard to resist!

JOAN....you like fries and ice cream too!!!! I used to love that. When my mom and dad took me to the shore one year, I remember having frozen custard in one hand and those crinkle fries in another....they were soooo good together! Also...Kudos to you for being able to lose if you gain over the holidays.

Another thing I'd done was emotional eating or boredom I guess....I was bingeing for a couple of weeks. Eating way more than was necessary.

We all have those weeks, don't we. I too have been away, traveling to my grand daughters first birthday, so I've missed two weeks of meetings. I know I gained some, cause it's hard to stay on track when you are away from home and eating other's cooking. But I'm trying to be better this week and will weigh-in the day before Thanksgiving, so that ought to keep me on track on Thursday. I think my goal for this week will be to maintain...not try to lose and set myself up for failure. Good luck to us all as this busy food loaded holiday is upon us!

JUJOBE...hang in there. Weighing the day before Thanksgiving is a good idea. I think I gained again because I lost track last week and wasn't able to exercise much. Haven't been to a meeting in months for a variety of reasons so trying to manage online until I can get to one. Best of blessings to you too in this journey.

Halloween also did me in. The celery with hummus is a great idea. Anyother good snack ideas for me? Thanks
