Having had my own business I had 2 occasions to call the police for imminent robberies and both times they waited until everything was over. Their only value was making out the report.
Being armed and able to take care of yourself is the only way to go.

In a shameful case, two girls who called 911 when they heard the screams of a roommate down stairs being attacked and raped, had their call dismissed as not an attack in progress. After a while the girls climbed through a window and onto the roof and saw cops drive slowly down the street, and later two come to the door, knocked , got no answer and left.

At one point they went back into the house thinking the police had finally entered. They had not. The girls were also captured, terrorized and raped for 14 hours. They sued their police force and lost. The court ruled that no one has a Constitutional right of protection by the police. Their job is to follow-up and investigate not ot protect you.

You be the judge of where an individual's self-protection lies. It is up to us. No one else can do the job or cares to do the job as well as we can. Arm yourself.

I agree completely the police are mostly useless we all need to be able to take care of ourselves. Get armed, get trained and practice regularly.
