Got a problem and need help with it. We have a uprising started and I want to nip it in the bud, if possible. It has to do with the healing power of prayer, as to both the prayer and doctors.
On the one hand son and daughter in law believe that the power of prayer is all you need. You want a job, pray to God, new car pray to God, etc etc. They believe that prayer and laying of hands is all you need.
Youngest daughter on the other hand believe's in God helps those that help themselves. She believes in prayer, but also doctors and medicines.
And you guessed it...dear ole dad is in the middle of it. I believe in the power of prayer and the hand of God on us. Son and daughter in law "walked" away from an accident that should of killed them. The hand of God was with them that day. BUT medical doctors put them back together, again with the hand of God watching their move.
I know from experience of the power of prayer, but not the laying of hands. Three blood clots in the heart and two collaped stints. Daughter and wife and a lot of people prayed to pull me through. Also a really good team of doctors.
So my question would be this...which, if either, would be right on it's own.
If your son and daughter-in-law are nearby, consider helping them find a religious doctor. There are more than you might think. If they are not in your immediate area, I think some folks right here may be able to make a few suggestions. Make it all PMs if you want.
It depends on hearing from God. If God directs them to be prayed over and have hands laid on them, that's what they need to do. If they are then healed, fine have it verified by a doctor, if the doctor verifies it, fine, they've been healed. If they are not healed then the doctor can help them. Very few people have such a clear relationship with God, if you do have that kind of relationship, you will hear from God about what to do and it will be so clear you can't help but do it right away, there is no kind of confusion whatsoever and you will in no way see a point in arguing about it, or, for that matter, even have the time to argue about it. The results will speak very loudly for themselves, people will be astounded and not be able to argue against it.
To answer your question, I would take it up in prayer and ask God to give you a answer, even if you don't get a response back the same day or night, but if you keep asking and praying to God He will give you the answer you are looking for.
I would have to agree with TLC331 that you need to take it to God in prayer. Ask for wisdom and decernment as you deal with this issue.
I personally have struggled with both sides of the question you are asking. I have seen immediate manifestations of healing result by the laying on of hands during services where the move of the Holy Spirit was almost tangible. I have seen a leg grow 2 inches and personally known many, including myself who at times have recieved immediate manifestation of healing. Some of them I was the vessel that God's power flowed through. For e the most dramatic time was when I was having severe respiratory issues. It had gotten to the place where I could barely walk 1 block without struggling to breath. After the laying on of hands, and as weird as it sounds the minister following the Holy Spirits lead to blow in my face I got immediate release. When I shared my testimony that day I was asked to run around the room, I ran 3 times and when I stopped was barely winded.
On the other hand I personally now struggle with RA. I know that God has the power to bring immediate release but also feel it is a matter of seeking His face. Using decernment through the Holy Spirit and wisdom. Faith in relationship of God alone and not faith in those whom pray for you. It can be a very slippery slope! God Loves us and He can use Dr's, after all it was him that gave mankind the knowledge of medicine. We should not be so self centered as to demand that God brings healing one way or the other. He is all powerful and all knowing and it is his choice of how he chooses to answer our prayers. He knows what is best for us.
I have seen some who were miracously healed a few years later turn their back on God and walk away due. And some who were healed through the use of medicine grow increasingly in their relationship with God with lessons of humility, trust, and compassion. God knows what is best for our relationship with Him.
The only reason I disagree with all of the previous answers is that you are being instructed to sit back and let God take care of everything. Doesn't happen that way. You are the active participant. Work with your God. Ask for answers. They will come.
In the name of God or holy spirit cleanse my body clense my soul, then sit quietly and ask for your angel to come close to you, you may feel chills or a sudden warmth, then ask the holy spirit to help you descied. you can stand up then and ask for the signal that will tell you. if you get nudge to go forward that is a yes and if you get nuged to go to the side.got a no. That is the fasted way to find out. The laying on of hands works if you belive it will work. And you can be a demostation of it for others. God works through us we are his conduent. In Reki they put their hands abouve the body and the healing comes from the hands God gives them the energy to heal. When my back hurts or my neck I breathe in the air into my hurts and it goes away, I breathe in the breath of God. God is everywere present. If you are the person with the blood clot you can say to you bodypart. I have a perfect heart now. Give it to God he will do the rest. You have to do some of the footwork. Just relax also and let God help you, fear will not gry upi any place. I am not afraid to tell my vbody with authoirty dyop ehst it doing. And it will listen to you. God is with in you. I works for me. Positive adirmations.

GOD TELLS US TO USE WISDOM IN ALL THINGS. HE HAS GIVEN US DIFFERENT METHODS OF HEALING. GOD USUES DOCTORS TO WORK THROUGH TO ACCOMPLISH HIS WILL. HAD YOU NOT SEEN A DOCTOR, YOU WOULD HAVE DIED. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN GOD WILL HEAL SOMEONE MIRACUOUSLY. THIS IS USUALLY WHEN SOMEONE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A BRAIN TUMOR OR CANCER. WHEN THE DOCTOR GOS TO CHECK IT AGAIN, THEY CAN NOT FIND IT. GOD HAS HEALED THEM. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN GOD WILL HEAL SOMEONE AFTER THEY HAVE SUFFERERED FOR YEARS.
