Did you hear that the Republican Nat'l Party has..

...been allowing it's health care benefit to include paying for abortions, both elective and non-elective for 18 years???? To me, that's laughable. Here we have the party of unborn babie's rights actually PAYING for abortions for it's employees, through their health care coverage.

I would LOVE to know how many abortions were performed for that group in those 18 years... wouldn't you?

This seems to be a pattern with the Republicans: "We believe in a lot of "family" values. We just don't practice them."

That is a bonafide gotcha. However, the RNC was not aware of the coverage. The coverage was in effect because the client has to opt out in order to NOT be covered. There is no record of the service being used. Due to satisfactory service the renewal has been rubber-stamped without reviewing the details, and the opt out block was not checked. The opt out block has now been checked.

" A spokeswoman for the National Republican Congressional Committee – the campaign arm for the House Republicans – said it does not include coverage for elective abortions in its employee insurance policy. "
β€œThe policy does not cover abortions unless the life of the mother is in danger,” the NRCC spokeswoman said.

" I would LOVE to know how many abortions were performed for that group in those 18 years... wouldn't you? " from the original.

None on record. Use of the service would have hit the headlines.

Doctor-Patient confidentiality would have prevented that Kerry.

"the RNC was not aware of the coverage"

I can believe that! They are not aware that they may have homosexuals in their party. And some Republicans are not aware that some of them may even have sex outside of marriage. And some are shocked that some Republicans are addicted to drugs. And some cheat on their income taxes. And some REPUBLICANS even think that CHOICE for an abortion should be up to a woman and not the government.

But the biggest problem that they have is that some Republicans are so disloyal that they might even vote for UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, because they think it is good for the people of this country. Such thinking is unpatriotic or at least un-REPUBLICAN. (Do they even allow thinking anymore in the REPUBLICAN party?)
