Today is.............

Friday, cloudy, chilly and a crazed homeowner who was digging and taking out rocks who weren't bothering anyone and now he has a stack of wood and is sawing away and appears to be building an outhouse even though we have indoor plumbing around here in Riverdale, NY. Guess this homeowner never heard of quiet table saws. They do exist. This has been going on for 3 weeks.

But I digress. There I was on Tuesday getting my teeth cleaned (always wonderful) and finding out that a filling needs to be replaced so I scheduled that appointment. Took the bus to mid-town Manhattan to a Hallmark store. They are the only stores that sell Christmas birthday and December birthday cards. Wanted to get one for my brother. This year was not a good one for him, he got divorced. In my opinion, he's better off without her. Never cared for her. So, I picked out 2 cards and was on my way to the cashier and turned my head and there they were: KEEPSAKE ORNAMENTS!!!!!!!

It's been a few years since I purchased any of these ornaments. They had a wonderful selection. So I bought 7, along with the 2 cards. Then I proceded with my shopping bag to meet hubby at the movies. He asked what I got in the bag and said "A few cards". The things we do, as wives, to avoid "discussions". We then went in to see the movie "Amelia". If you are planning to see it bring a tissue or use the napkin you get with the popcorn. We enjoyed the movie.

However, the previews go on for ever and a lot of the upcoming movies are just special effects on steroids. Having epilepsy I cannot see 3D, 4D or IMAX so I avoid those movies. But some of the special effects come awfully close. What is the sense in spending $12.50 here in New York City to see a movie when you have to close your eyes. Yep, the price wasn't a typo.

Well, this weekend is hubby's birthday present as we are going to see "Finian's Rainbow"; my birthday present in December will be "White Christmas", both Broadway plays and matinee times. I just can't take the crowds in the evening they are so rude. It was different when I worked in the area of Broadway then I didn't notice it as much.

Remember all, root for the Celtics tonight, New England Patriots on Sunday night and Notre Dame tomorrow.

Have a good weekend, all!!!!!!!

Hi dash...the one thing I really envy you New Yorkers for is BROADWAY!!!

I do know what you mean about birthday cards fr those in December and on holidays. I was married twice and I have had a MIL and a FIL with Christmas day birthdays,I also have a niece born on Christmas day. Borh of my brothers(though 8 years apart ) have the same birthday---its also the wedding aniversaty for one and the birthday of a nephew aswell! And..one of my children has the same birthday as my SIL and their oldest child. There are lots shared birthdays amoung my immeadiate family--and finding cards appropriate for them is difficult.
