A friend passed this along to me this morning about a lady that has over 100 cats. Its going to air tonight on ABC at 10pm on the 20/20 show.If you get a chance maybe you could watch this and we could talk about it.

OMG! Having 16 cats would be crossing a line for me. We had four cats (one for each member of the family), 2 dogs, and a rabbit at one time. I want a relationship with each of my pets. I can't imagine having so many. With over a hundred, I couldn't even keep track of which one was which, much less have a loving relationship with all of them.

I saw the program. I have always thought that anyone who hoards cats has a serious mental problem. It is not fair to the cats who might believe they are in a bad place. How can they all be loved?

I have heard a lot of these tales and they never seem to come out well for the cats. I don't think I could deal with so many.

Unfortunately I missed the program.I have had a great many cats over the years becouse I live in an area where it is apparently the perfect place to dump unwanted cats and kittens. And they generally end up coming to my house.Im a stickler about the homes Iv allowed them to go to but I have been able to find good homes for most of them.I personally have seven cats now and like any good mother I worry sometimes if I can adiquitly provide for them. But I would never turn a cat(or dog)away. But having as many cats as these ladies do,I agree may be beyond love of cats to perhaps serious behavior issues.I realise how over crowded the animal shelters are and there are wonderful foster programs so that there can be more no-kill shelter policies, but there is no way one person can take good care of that many cats.

the most important thing when having a pet(s) is giving it the best - care, food, love - if this cant be given equally then there are too many & its not fair to anyone (person included) - cat horders do not have the welfare of the cat as priorty - obessive behavoir of any kind is not a good thing - it leans towards selfishness instead of caring - donate to shelters if there is a need to help many cats - i'm not just talking about money - donate time - people that want to help cats can go to shelters and do volunteer work which is needed just as much fiancial donations !!!!
