Friday the 13 thoughts...

Good morning! Be extra careful today, no walking under ladders, spilling salt, or letting a black cat cross your path, for sure.
Just a reminder that tomorrow we'll start our discussion of this month's group read, and I'm looking forward to hearing what we all thought of it. It seems to me to be a book that might open lots of different windows of thought.
The next item of business will be to set up the group reads for the next several months. I'm thinking that this is how we'll do it - We'll start a thread, and stick it, and everybody submit some titles, fiction, non-fiction and mystery, let's say. After the time's up, lol, not sure yet when that deadline will be, I'll do the old "number the titles and let Tom call out numbers" to determine reads. I'll try and get a good balance among the genres. If we have a lot of submissions, we may end up chosing group reads for a few extra months, we'll see. Anyway, watch for that thread in the next week.
Right now I'm reading Kindred in Death by JD Robb, and it is so horrifyingly graphically violent at the start that I actually had nightmares last night. As usual it is well written, and well set up, but man! Very hard to read these particular sections.
Be careful today, maybe stay in and do some reading?
