Welcome - fl27127, Turdalee, and belindaj1990
We are glad you joined us, tell us about yourselves, what kind of things do you like to crochet, who do you crochet for? What's on your hook?
Bonnet Pictures, Images and Photos
I chose this bonnet for the picture because it was made by someone in one of my Yahoo groups.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm a retired Registered Nurse married to a retired Saddle Maker for 46 yrs. We love to travel especially to the Gulf Coast. We have three dogs who travel with us in the fifth wheel camper. I love crocheting just about anything but right now I'm concentrating on cap, hats, and scarfs for a Christmas Craft Fair. Dishcloths and bath cloths are also things I like to crochet because they are so portable and I can carry them with me most places. After the holidays I will be crocheting Chemo Has for our Oncology Clinic. I will also be crocheting for the local NICU. Looking forward to getting to know all you ladies.

Sounds like your hook is flashing! I think a lot of us do crochet for charity; some do it to sell. I think it keeps us out of trouble, too. LOL And it is fun. My hubby can sit all evening and just watch TV; I never understood how he can do that. I have to be doing something with my hands, so my crochet hook is always busy when I'm sitting. Do you go to the Gulf Coast on the Texas or the Florida side? I have never been to the Texas side, but Florida is beautiful.

Hi Bean60, sorry it has been so long in replying. My mother is in a Nursing Home and I have been very busy with that. i know what you mean when you say your hubby can watch TV all evening, mine can too. I use to be a smoker, years ago, and starting crocheting to keep my hands busy and have just continued. I don't care for TV at all but give me some yarn and a hook and I'm as happy as a "pig in a puddle". We go to the Alabama gulf. Gulf Shores to be exact. We take the camper down and stay several months. We have been doing this for awhile but won't be going this year because my Mom is very ill with CLL and bone cancer.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother; my mother lived with us the last several months before she died. For several years before that, we took her on vacations with us. She and our teenage son, at that time, were almost like brother and sister picking at each other in the back seat. Drove my hubby crazy, but I thought it was hilarious.

I know how difficult it is to deal with the loss of parents and my sympathies and prayers are with you. Take care of yourself in order to take care of your mother.
