Are All Muslims Terroist?

By ADAM GOLDMAN, Associated Press Writer – 33 mins ago
NEW YORK – Federal prosecutors took steps Thursday to seize four U.S. mosques and a Fifth Avenue skyscraper owned by a nonprofit Muslim organization long suspected of being secretly controlled by the Iranian government.
In what could prove to be one of the biggest counterterrorism seizures in U.S. history, prosecutors filed a civil complaint in federal court against the Alavi Foundation, seeking the forfeiture of more than $500 million in assets.
The assets include bank accounts; Islamic centers consisting of schools and mosques in New York City, Maryland, California and Houston; more than 100 acres in Virginia; and a 36-story glass office tower in New York.

Are all Muslims terrorist? That certainly seems to be the message our government is sending ... They seized these properties on an assumption of guilt ... Seizing places of worship will not set well with law abiding Muslims, nor should it. This is another knee jerk reaction similar to that of 9/11.

It's a tangled web. This conflict with followers of Islam is not new by any means, it has been going on for centuries.
I guess I believe that the "true" followers of Islam are peaceful, law abiding People. But then we have the Extremists who twist the faith in a way that suits them and add a vast population of uneducated and undereducated followers, who are looking for answers and fall prey to these extreme views, and You have the problems We have in the Middle East, and it creeps into the mainstream.

If anyone cares ( I dont push my beliefs on anyone)

Tim McVey was a Christian. Are all Christians Terrorists?

There is a Muslim center down the street where I live. They don't bother us and we don't bother them. They came from places like Afghanistan where they didn't want to deal with the Taliban and all the BS going on over there.

I have noticed whenever we get into some sort of war there are refugees that end up in the US. So if someone doesn't want more Muslims here maybe we need to get the hell out of their territory. The oil Administration is no longer in power and so that should be more doable.

It reminds one of the way Japanese Americans were treated during WWII. German Americans or Italian Americans weren't treated that way but the Japanese Americans, native born Americans, many whose parents were born here too were put into concentration camps because of the boogyman, sky is falling fears of many poorly educated, unthinking, sometimes biggoted, and kept afraid for political reasons. Because the Middle Eastern Muslims are "not like us" they are looked at as enemy no matter what they really are.

"long suspected of being secretly controlled by the Iranian government."
Does not sound all that knee jerk to me. Hopefully, 'long suspected' means they took a long hard look at them (and actually found something) before moving. Seems to me that more info is needed before we can make anything of this.

Now anyone who knows me knows have been very outspoken in defense of Muslim groups being unfairly targeted for hate or to be propaganda for fear. There has been a lot of that going on.

However, not knowing the facts in these instances, there is a cold reality in the world. Iran uses Hezbollah as an arm for their defense. They can and will commit acts of terror. It has been known for years that following our flare up with the Iranians back in the 80's, Hezbollah cells were established in the U.S. Some we know about, most certainly others we do not. Just saying there is a real possibility for real terrorist cells to be here ready to go if they get the signal.

However in this case I don't think the issue is Hezbollah. It has to do with property ownership and flow of money to Iran. Presently they are holding young people from the U.S. on charges of espionage. When Iran cracked down on the Iranian dissidents and refused to cooperate over nuclear issues, the U.S. and other governments imposed economic sanctions. I think this action is related to those economic sanctions.

In a separate Muslim extremist group, young people from here in Minneapolis are being recruited to go back to Somalia to fight in the never ending civil war. Several young people under 18 have turned up missing only to be contacted later to say they have joined the jihad.

I guess what I am saying is that we have to be careful that unnecessary scapegoating is not occurring. But it is also important to realize that especially after the actions of our nation over the last several years, we have some powerful enemies out there.
