Vicki Christina Barcelona!!!!!!!!!!!

What and excellent movie--romantic, visually beautiful, intelligently written, filled with crazy, wild passion that would drive a normal person crazy.

Penelope Cruz deserved any accolades she got for this movie, and Javier Berdam--well--who wouldn't fall in love with him.

This move looks at different realtionships and the satisfaction quotient of them and ends on one of the truest notes I have experiences.

I recommend it to all the romantics who question life with every breath. What a lovely ride.

I loved this movie. Before I saw Love in the Time of Cholera I didn't know who Javier Barden was. Boy, had I missed out. Cruz and Johansan were different.

Allen's films are full of insight in women characters. I liked Hanna's Sisters. (was that the name?) too.

I figured rather than starting a new thread about this movie, I'd see what was posted. Bernie posted an earlier thread but this thread was most recent.

Months ago when I tried to rent it, "Vicky Christina Barcelona" was back-listed on Netflix because it was so popular. I rented it from the local library and watched it yesterday.

Wonderful movie. Loved it. I also never saw Javier Bardem before "Love in the Time of Cholera." He's excellent as were all the actors. I love Allen's women characters and how the movie was narrated in voice over.

I haven't seen "No Country for Old Men" but since Bardem is in it, I will rent it. I was thinking he works with Penelope Cruz a lot and then I found this, "Bardem has been in a relationship with Penélope Cruz since they began working together on Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008)." I think Cruz is a fantastic actress. She perfects passionate, emotional characters.

Misterreal, the movie you mentioned above was "Hannah and Her Sisters." I also loved that.

I want to add that the most amazing film I've seen Bardem do is "The Sea Inside." It's a 2004 film in Spanish with subtitles. Extraordinary film that deals with a man's fight to be allowed to die. Sounds depressing but it's wonderful.

Here's a link to earlier comments about "Vicky Christina Barcelona" from Bernie's thread.

VCB very enjoyable. The Sea Inside was devastating, but I couldn't stop watching. Probably Bardems' best movie role ever IMHO.

I agree Lulu. I tend to avoid movies like The Sea Inside because they're too painful but Bardem was so extraordinary.
